Last days of life and care after death
Increasingly, tools such as the Liverpool Care Pathway (LCP), are being adopted by those providing end of life care. The LCP was first developed for use with cancer patients and has been successfully modified for use for people with other conditions.
The National Care of the Dying Audit Hospitals, led by the Marie Curie Palliative Care Institute Liverpool and the Royal College of Physicians, was based on the LCP.
