Take expert advice

If you are planning to conduct research that involves numerical data and statistical tests, you will probably need expert advice from a statistician. A statistician can help you design your study by giving advice about how much data you might need to collect (the study ‘power’) and can also tell you which tests are appropriate to use on the type of data you are planning to collect.

Don’t wait until you have collected your data to involve someone with statistical expertise; your project will be much more effective if you take advice while designing the research.
