The evaluation report
Your evaluation report should include
- an executive summary
- an introduction, which includes
- a brief description of the organisation, service or project under evaluation
- a concise explanation of why the evaluation was done
- details of who did the evaluation
- details of your evaluation methodologies
- a summary of the information you collected during the evaluation
- an analysis of that information
- an interpretation of that analysis: ie what does it mean in practice
- recommendations for action based on the evaluation
- appendices – any other relevant documents can be included here
When you are thinking about the style of your report, ask yourself
- who you are writing it for?
- what do they need to do with the report?
- what do you need to include and how do you need to present it so they can use it most effectively?
