The End of Life Care Strategy underpins all the National End of Life Care Programme’s work. It:
  • aims to meet the health and social care needs and preferences of all adult patients in where they live and die
  • provides a practical framework that health and social care services can use to build high quality services for people nearing the end of life
  • covers 12 key areas of end of life care, including raising profile, commissioning, research, education and training, service planning and delivery and support and involvement of carers.
