Drive on to improve end of life care for people with learning disabilities

Improving the end of life care of people with learning disabilities – including the increasing numbers living into old age – is the challenge set by a practical guide published today.

Published by the National End of Life Care Programme (NEoLCP), The route to success in end of life care – achieving quality for people with learning disabilities follows the six step end of life care pathway. This ranges from sensitive initial discussions to care after death. The guide is aimed at health and social care professionals and other staff caring for people with learning disabilities and health or who regularly come into contact with this client group.
